Miraculous Haul of Fishes

Jesus appeared to his disciples several times between his resurrection and

ascension. On one occasion, he met Peter and several other disciples at the shore of

the Sea of Tiberias. After a night of fishing, the fishermen returned to shore at

dawn with empty nets. Jesus, whom they did not immediately recognize, asked

them, “Children, have you caught anything to eat?” When they answered no, Jesus

told them to try again, this time casting the net over the right side of the boat.

They obeyed and caught more than their nets could hold. As the body of Christ, we

are called to work together. With various gifts and talents, we are called to fulfill

God’s will and plan for the kingdom.
